Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Whatever colors you have in your mind
I’ll show them to you and you’ll see them shine

Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Stay, lady, stay, stay with your man awhile
Until the break of day, let me see you make him smile
His clothes are dirty but his hands are clean
And you’re the best thing that he’s ever seen

Stay, lady, stay, stay with your man awhile
Why wait any longer for the world to begin
You can have your cake and eat it too
Why wait any longer for the one you love
When he’s standing in front of you

Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Stay, lady, stay, stay while the night is still ahead
I long to see you in the morning light
I long to reach for you in the night
Stay, lady, stay, stay while the night is still ahead

Oh my name it is nothin’
My age it means less
The country I come from
Is called the Midwest
I’s taught and brought up there
The laws to abide
And that land that I live in
Has God on its side.

Oh the history books tell it
They tell it so well
The cavalries charged
The Indians fell
The cavalries charged
The Indians died
Oh the country was young
With God on its side.

Oh the Spanish-American
War had its day
And the Civil War too
Was soon laid away
And the names of the heroes
I’s made to memorize
With guns in their hands
And God on their side.

Oh the First World War, boys
It closed out its fate
The reason for fighting
I never got straight
But I learned to accept it
Accept it with pride
For you don’t count the dead
When God’s on your side.

When the Second World War
Came to an end
We forgave the Germans
And we were friends
Though they murdered six million
In the ovens they fried
The Germans now too
Have God on their side.

I’ve learned to hate Russians
All through my whole life
If another war starts
It’s them we must fight
To hate them and fear them
To run and to hide
And accept it all bravely
With God on my side.

But now we got weapons
Of the chemical dust
If fire them we’re forced to
Then fire them we must
One push of the button
And a shot the world wide
And you never ask questions
When God’s on your side.

In a many dark hour
I’ve been thinkin’ about this
That Jesus Christ
Was betrayed by a kiss
But I can’t think for you
You’ll have to decide
Whether Judas Iscariot
Had God on his side.

So now as I’m leavin’
I’m weary as Hell
The confusion I’m feelin’
Ain’t no tongue can tell
The words fill my head
And fall to the floor
If God’s on our side
He’ll stop the next war.

Numele meu nu conteaza,
Varsta mea, nici atat,
Locul de unde vin eu,
E ca oricare din Vest.
Tara m-a-nvatat legea
De mic sa respect
Iar tara mea are
Pe Dumnezeu de partea sa.

Cartea de istorie ne-invata
Chiar cu lux de-amanunt,
Armata a tras,
Indienii au cazut.
Armata a tras,
Indienii au murit
Tara era tanara,
Cu Dumnezeu de partea sa.

A urmat apoi Mexicul,
Si Sudul la rand,
Toti uitaram razboiul,
La pace visand.
Au ramas doar eroii,
Care bravi au luptat
Cu armele-n mana,
Si Dumnezeu aliat.

In primul razboi mondial,
Iar ai nostri-au luptat
Desi nu stiu nici astazi,
De la ce s-au certat
Dar am invatat sa accept
Si sa fiu mandru chiar,
Ca nu se numara mortii
Cand Dumnezeu e de partea ta.

Cand al doilea razboi al lumii
A ajuns la sfarsit
I-am iertat pe nemti
Si ne-am imprietenit
Desi-n lagare au ucis
Sase milioane ca noi
Acum si nemtii il au
Pe Dumnezeu de partea lor.

Am invatat sa-i urasc
Pe rusi toata viata,
Daca razboiul incepe,
Cu ei vom lupta
Ii urasc si mi-e frica,
Vreau sa fug sa m-ascund
Si sa-mi zic cu mandrie
Ca Dumnezeu e de partea mea.

Dar acum avem arme
Ce savantii-au creat
Daca trebuie, trebui,
Ne-aparam cu ce-avem,
Un buton doar si lumea
Va ramane doar praf
Si nu pui intrebari
Cu Dumnezeu aliat.

In multe nopti albe,
M-am gandit la ceva
La Iisus si la tradarea,
Cu un sarut pe obraz
Nu pot spune totusi,
Asta tu sa decizi,
Daca Iuda a avut si el
Cu el pe Dumnezeu.

Acum sunt in ceata
Doar confuzie vad
Cuvintele-mi umplu mintea,
Apoi cad la podea.
Daca Dumnezeu e cu noi
Va opri urmatorul razboi.

Cand necazuri te doboara
Si prieteni n-ai sa-i strigi
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici

Si ce slaveai in taina
E asa cum nu-ti explici,
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici
Nu-i aici, nu, nu-i aici, nu
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici

Cand oprit la o rascruce,
Drumul nu sti sa-l prezici,
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici

Cand nu mai ai nici vise
Si nu sti cum sa te ridici
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici
Nu-i aici, nu, nu-i aici, nu
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici

Cand se-aduna norii negri,
Ploaia cade ca un brici,
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici

Mangaiere n-ai, nu vezi acum
Maini intinse de amici,
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici
Nu-i aici, nu, nu-i aici, nu
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici

Pomul vieti creste mandru
Unde spiritul e viu,
Lumineaza iar salvarea
Cerul gol si cenusiu

Cand orasele-s in flacari,
Musuroaie de furnici,
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici

Si cand cauti in zadar un om
Printr-atatea mii de venetici,
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici
Nu-i aici, nu, nu-i aici, nu
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici

Nu-i aici, nu, nu-i aici, nu
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici

Nu-i aici, nu, nu-i aici, nu
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici

Nu-i aici, nu, nu-i aici, nu
Tine minte, sfarsitul nu-i aici.

When you’re sad and when you’re lonely and you haven’t got a friend
Just remember that death is not the end
And all that you’ve held sacred, falls down and does not mend
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

When you’re standing at the crossroads that you cannot comprehend
Just remember that death is not the end
And all your dreams have vanished and you don’t know what’s up the bend
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

When the storm clouds gather ’round you, and heavy rains descend
Just remember that death is not the end
And there’s no one there to comfort you, with a helpin’ hand to lend
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

Oh, the tree of life is growing
Where the spirit never dies
And the bright light of salvation shines
In dark and empty skies

When the cities are on fire with the burning flesh of men
Just remember that death is not the end
And you search in vain to find just one law abiding citizen
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

A worried man with a worried mind
No one in front of me and nothing behind
There’s a woman on my lap and she’s drinking champagne
Got white skin, got assassin’s eyes
I’m looking up into the sapphire tinted skies
I’m well dressed, waiting on the last train

Standing on the gallows with my head in a noose
Any minute now I’m expecting all hell to break loose

People are crazy and times are strange
I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range
I used to care, but things have changed

This place ain’t doing me any good
I’m in the wrong town, I should be in Hollywood
Just for a second there I thought I saw something move
Gonna take dancing lessons do the jitterbug rag
Ain’t no shortcuts, gonna dress in drag
Only a fool in here would think he’s got anything to prove

Lot of water under the bridge, Lot of other stuff too
Don’t get up gentlemen, I’m only passing through

People are crazy and times are strange
I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range
I used to care, but things have changed

I’ve been walking forty miles of bad road
If the bible is right, the world will explode
I’ve been trying to get as far away from myself as I can
Some things are too hot to touch
The human mind can only stand so much
You can’t win with a losing hand

Feel like falling in love with the first woman I meet
Putting her in a wheel barrow and wheeling her down the street

People are crazy and times are strange
I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range
I used to care, but things have changed
I hurt easy, I just don’t show it
You can hurt someone and not even know it
The next sixty seconds could be like an eternity
Gonna get low down, gonna fly high
All the truth in the world adds up to one big lie
I’m in love with a woman who don’t even appeal to me

Mr. Jinx and Miss Lucy, they jumped in the lake
I’m not that eager to make a mistake

People are crazy and times are strange
I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range
I used to care, but things have changed

(Bob Dylan – Blowing in The Wind)

How many roads must a man walk down before you call him a man?
How many seas must a white dove sail before she sleeps in the sand?
How many times must the cannonballs fly before they are forever banned?

The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind,
The answer is blowing in the wind.

Raspunsu-i vanare de vant.

Raspunsu-i vanare de vant.

De cate ori omul in sus va privi pana cerul sa-l vada-ndeajuns?
Cat de multe urechi necesare le sunt ca sa auda al drumurilor vant?
Cati mai au de murit ca sa afla in sfarsit ca oameni prea multi au murit.

Raspunsul prieteni e vanare de vant,
Raspunsu-i vanare de vant.

The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind,
The answer is blowing in the wind.

They’ll stone you when you’re trying to be so good
They’ll stone you just like they said they would
They’ll stone you when you’re trying to go home
They’ll stone you when you’re there all alone
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

They’ll stone you when you’re walking on the street
They’ll stone you when you’re trying to keep your seat
They’ll stone you when your walking on the floor
They’ll stone you when your walking to the door
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

They’ll stone you when you’re at the breakfast table
They’ll stone you when you are young and able
They’ll stone you when you’re trying to make a buck
They’ll stone you and then they’ll say good luck
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

Well They’ll stone you and say that it’s the end
They’ll stone you and then they’ll come back again
They’ll stone you when you’re riding in your car
They’ll stone you when you’re playing you guitar
Yes But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned
Alright

Well They’ll stone you when you are all alone
They’ll stone you when you are walking home
They’ll stone you and then say they’re all brave
They’ll stone you when you’re send down in your grave
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

(Rany Day Woman – Bob Dylan)

Te iau cand crezi ca esti si tu mai bun,
Te iau c-asa ar trebui, iti spun,
Te iau cand vrei s-ajungi si tu acas’,
Te iau cand numai tu ti-ai mai ramas!

Dar hai sa ne avem ca frati,
Toti sintem putin luati!

Te iau cand iesi si tu putin pe strazi,
Te iau cand locu-ncerci sa ti-l pastrezi,
Te iau cand pe pamant calci in sfarsit,
Te iau cand spre iesire mergi grabit!

Dar hai sa ne avem ca frati,
Toti sintem putin luati!

Te iau chiar de la ceai cand te trezesti,
Te iau cand tanar si capabil esti,
Te iau cand banii, banii nu stii ce’s,
Te iau si-apoi iti zic zambind: Succes!

Dar hai sa ne avem ca frati,
Toti sintem putin luati!

Te iau si-apoi iti spun ca s-a sfarsit,
Te iau si-apoi apar din nou uimit,
Te iau cand cu masina mergi hai-hui,
Te iau cand pe ghitara mana pui!

Dar hai sa ne avem ca frati,
Toti sintem putin luati!

Te iau cand numai tu ti-ai mai ramas,
Te iau si-atunci cand mergi si tu acas’,
Te iau si-apoi iti spun ca esti barbat,
Te iau cand in mormant te-aï asezat!

Dar hai sa ne avem ca frati,
Toti sintem putin luati!

Performed by: Roger McGuinn, Tom Petty, George Harrison, Neil Young, Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan

Crimson flames tied through my ears
Rollin’ high and mighty traps
Pounced with fire on flaming roads
Using ideas as my maps
“We’ll meet on edges, soon,” said I
Proud ‘neath heated brow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I’m younger than that now.

Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth
“Rip down all hate,” I screamed
Lies that life is black and white
Spoke from my skull. I dreamed
Romantic facts of musketeers
Foundationed deep, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I’m younger than that now.

Girls’ faces formed the forward path
From phony jealousy
To memorizing politics
Of ancient history
Flung down by corpse evangelists
Unthought of, though, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I’m younger than that now.

A self-ordained professor’s tongue
Too serious to fool
Spouted out that liberty
Is just equality in school
“Equality,” I spoke the word
As if a wedding vow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I’m younger than that now.

In a soldier’s stance, I aimed my hand
At the mongrel dogs who teach
Fearing not that I’d become my enemy
In the instant that I preach
My pathway led by confusion boats
Mutiny from stern to bow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I’m younger than that now.

Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats
Too noble to neglect
Deceived me into thinking
I had something to protect
Good and bad, I define these terms
Quite clear, no doubt, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I’m younger than that now.

The guilty undertaker sighs,
The lonesome organ grinder cries,
The silver saxophones say I should refuse you.
The cracked bells and washed-out horns
Blow into my face with scorn,
But it’s not that way,
I wasn’t born to lose you.
I want you, I want you,
I want you so bad,
Honey, I want you.

The drunken politician leaps
Upon the street where mothers weep
And the saviors who are fast asleep,
They wait for you.
And I wait for them to interrupt
Me drinkin’ from my broken cup
And ask me to
Open up the gate for you.
I want you, I want you,
I want you so bad,
Honey, I want you.

Now all my fathers, they’ve gone down
True love they’ve been without it.
But all their daughters put me down
‘Cause I don’t think about it.

Well, I return to the Queen of Spades
And talk with my chambermaid.
She knows that I’m not afraid
To look at her.
She is good to me
And there’s nothing she doesn’t see.
She knows where I’d like to be
But it doesn’t matter.
I want you, I want you,
I want you so bad,
Honey, I want you.

Now your dancing child with his Chinese suit,
He spoke to me, I took his flute.
No, I wasn’t very cute to him,
Was I?
But I did it, though, because he lied
Because he took you for a ride
And because time was on his side
And because I . . .
I want you, I want you,
I want you so bad,
Honey, I want you.
